I Wasn't Supossed To Love [One-shot]

first of all, i am NOT gonna say that this is a boring oneshot! cause i know that u would kill me for saying that!
This is entirely my work, all the poetic lines used here are written by me, and u r not supossed to use them in your ffs without even asking me....or even update or net. if i ever see my work being paligarised again, i would surely take an action towards it!

" You know it.....u know Gunjan what type of girl I am! You know everything! You know that I am not supposed to love....u know that very well...then why do you want me to love him? I can't ever love him.....i know that he loves me...but I can't love him back...and you know it all.....i really can't love him." This was the last thing she said before falling down on the ground to start weeping.

"But Di I think you don't need to love him...because you already love him." Gunjan said to her.

This made her look her through her black eyes which were no longer black in color but were red in color due to excessive crying....and she just gazed into her sister's eyes which showed how much sorry she felt for her sister. Gunjan just hugged her back.

"Di, still there is time....stop him. Stop Mayank before he goes away from your life forever." Gunjan held her shoulders and said.

"Gunjan, you know that I can't. I can't really stop him. If I do so, then what would happen here? I am the bride, for God sake!" Nupur said wailing with her teary eyes.

Today was her marriage. Her marriage with Adhiraj. A boy whom she thought that she loved...until....Mayank came into her life. And then things took a u-turn. She started knowing what actually love is. But her destiny....she is getting married to Adhiraj!

I know that I still have the tears,

But is there anyone who cares?

Except you I loved no one,

Come back to me, oh do come!

Nupur forced herself to walk down the stairs and she went down....her pink lehenga, her jewellery, her make up....everything added beauty to her exotic beauty. But somehow her smile was missing from her face. She couldn't smile. Not when she knew that she loved only and only Mayank and he was going away. But there was nothing she could do....not when she knew that it was her mistake. Her mistake of letting him go from her life. She wished that she had realized her love for him before this day. It's strange that sometimes you only realize its love when you face a condition where you have already lost him.

Love is always not easy to realize,

Loosing it is hard to visualize.

I know that I would die without you,

But I still can't say that I love you.

She forced her legs to move down towards the steps. She went towards the mandap in which Adhiraj was sitting waiting for his beautiful soon-to-be-wife to become a part of his life. 

As soon as she came down, he said "you really made me wait for long. Comeon darling, you should have left something to admire for our first night too."

Earlier when Adhiraj used to tease her about their first night, she used to blush or she used to have a butterfly feeling in her stomach. But today she felt void and she wondered how she would cope up from this thing. 

How would I live without you by my side?

I wonder how I would get this right.

I can't overcome the feeling of loosing you,

Its killing me that now I have to live without you.

She knew how much she loved Mayank. While doing the rituals, which meant only and only obligations for her, she only thought about Mayank. She remembered how they met in the meeting held in the office...how he helped her throughout the meeting....how they became friends....how understanding he was...how they started meeting again and again and how they both fell in love. She knew that she was not supposed to love because her marriage was already fixed with Adhiraj.....besides she was his fiance. But can a single ring on a little finger compete with the heart which beats for Mayank? She didn't had to love, yet she fell in love. She couldn't help it! The caring nature of Mayank made her fall in love with him. He was a man of her dreams...her prince charming.

The way we met, the things you said.

Without you, I want to be dead.

I just don't want to live without you,

My love is pure and is true.

She got engaged to Adhiraj because Adhiraj loved him and he was her best friend. She had no one in her life and she thought that he is the best person in the world. She felt herself secure with him. So she got engaged to him. But today, all she wanted was to go to Mayank and tell him that she loves him and only him. It pains when your love is going away from your life and you can't help it. 

She felt divine when Mayank had proposed to her. She felt like confessing her feelings then and there, but as the destiny would have it, Adhiraj came there and hugged Nupur which startled both Mayank and Nupur. And before Nupur could know anything, Adhiraj told Mayank all about his and Nupur's love and engagement. She hated the pain which she saw in Mayank's eyes....and she knew that she was the cause for it. And as a result, Mayank was going away.....away from Mumbai.....away from India.....away from her life. She hated herself at that time for not able to speak up and she hated herself today for getting married to Adhiraj.

The day when you proposed me I couldn't say anything,

But now I curse myself for that thing.

I didn't meant to fall in love with you,

But could a ring keep me away from you?


 

She was taking the seven sacred vows and she knew that she would be able to keep them. She knew that. But the next vow was something she couldn't take.....she couldn't....cause she knew that it can never be true.

The vows I am taking are very pure,

My heart is injured and only you r the cure.

I wish I could be with you,

I wish I was meant only and only for you.

Priest said that, "now the bride would say that- I will love you solely for the rest of my life as you are my husband. Every other man in my life will be secondary. I vow to remain chaste. And I will only and only love you always."

And she knew that this wasn't true....she can't love Adhiraj ever. And Mayank can never be a second man in her life. No one could replace Mayank. She knew that she would love Mayank always. So, she remained quiet.

Adhiraj said, "Nupur, say the vow dear."

But she couldn't hear anything. All she knew that this was wrong. This entire thing was wrong. She was meant for Mayank. She can't spoil three lives by this. Moreover, she didn't wanted to cheat Adhiraj because she knew that he did loved her truly. And she knew the meaning of true love. So she got up from her place followed by Adhiraj and others. All had questions in their eyes.

How could I say the vow so pure?

When I knew that my love had no cure.

I knew that you can never be the second man,

To take your place is something no one can.

Nupur confessed finally, "Adhiraj, I am really sorry but I can't say this vow. I love Mayank and I can't love you ever cause I love him more than my life. I have no heart to give you in this marriage. I only have a dead body which you can have but no soul in it. Maybe I get married to you but I can't ever love you back. I am really sorry."

Adhiraj could only hear his heart silently breaking into pieces but he knew that what Nupur had said was right. He knew that if Nupur marries him then both of them won't remain happy ever. And he didn't want to have her living as dead.

It's really strange that when your heart breaks,

It is only you who can feel the pain.

Others can never hear the noise,

It just breaks and shatters you inside.

Adhiraj said, "Nupur go and stop Mayank. His flight is in one hour. You need to stop him before he goes away forever from your life." And when he saw Nupur's eyes full of tears, he said, "Dear, I always wanted to have your heart and not your body. And right now I can see that you have already given my thing to someone else. So there is no point in marrying you. I can't marry as girl who loves someone else and is bound by some man made rituals with me. Your and Mayank's bond is of love and this bond doesn't bounds only two people together...but two heart together.....two souls together. And in front of your love, I don't think that I want to marry you. So go and stop him."

I know what love really means,

Because I loved you without paying heed.

You love someone else is paining me,

But I know what you feel.

Nupur had tears in her eyes. She hugged Adhiraj and said "thanks a lot Adhiraj" and she made her way towards the door. She had no more time to spend. She just ran to save her love from leaving her life. All the way through, she kept tearing the garland she was wearing, she just ran. She kept thinking about the memories they shared. Whenever you feel low, then just one thing, take a deep breath, calm yourself and remember the good memories in your life that you always cherish. It always works, it always makes you feel lightened and it makes you feel happy.

Whenever you are sad or low,

Just remember the memories that made you glow.

The search for yourself begins at home,

You heart is all the answers dome.

She was running for Mayank....for her life. She knew that if today she didn't run then it would be too late to do anything. There were still 20 minutes left and the airport was near by but she had to find him too. She wanted to make sure that today; even God cannot snatch Mayank from her life. Today it was a race against the time, for her life. And she was running at her full speed to ensure that Mayank doesn't leave this country.

She entered the airport and ran to find Mayank....she tried finding him everywhere but he wasn't there. She searched him frantically like anything. She couldn't afford to loose him.....not now atleast. She had tears in her eyes....she didn't wanted him to go...she wouldn't be able to take that.

I can't stay away from you,

I seriously wish to see you.

I wasn't supposed to love,

But I fell, for you!

And then she saw him.....same height....same eyes. Black shirt with a jeans and a bag hung on his shoulder. Everything was looking same except the face that his 1000 watt smile was missing from his face and his cheeks showed traces of tears in them. She so wanted to erase his tears and tell him not to go. She just moved in his direction. Nupur knew that Mayank can hear her airy footsteps, and that happened....he turned even before Nupur could reach him. His eyes showed shock, surprise and confusion. He was confused to see Nupur here in a wedding dress.

But without wasting any single second, she went upto him and hugged him....and she felt happy to be in his arms. She felt like the whole world has come to a stop and there was only the two of them. She felt divine. While he was puzzled....but when she hugged him...he was taken aback by surprise but then he responded and caressed her back making her feel secure. He could feel her tears wetting his shirt.

It's so nice to be in your arms,

With you, I am always calm.

Life looks pleasant when I am with you,

You don't even know how much I have been through..

The there were loads of tears in her eyes. They separated and Mayank cupped her face and asked, "Nupur, how come you are here? Wasn't today your marriage?"

Nupur just looked at his face and she saw that he too had tears in his eyes. It was paining him to think that she was getting married. But she knew what to say. She said, "Marriage? I got married."

She wanted to see Mayank' reaction on this, and she saw what she had expected. Mayank distant himself from her and his eyes searched for vermillion and the other signs of marriage. But finding none, he said, "oh! Congratulations to you and Adhiraj. And I am happy to know that you are happy. Wish you a very happy marriage life ahead. But how come you r here at this point of time?"

 

I wanted to know the reason of you being here,

I wanted to know if you do care.

I loved the embrace you gave me before,

But now I realized that it wasn't meant for me to be sure.

Nupur innocently said, "What do you mean? I have only come to my husband. You are my husband and how can I let you go away from my life?" this made Mayank puzzled. And he thought what she was speaking. But she knew him more than he himself knew him. Nupur just leaned forward and gave a short peck on his cheeks which made Mayank blush a red color. And Nupur got amused by this nature of Mayank.

I just stopped you from going away from my life,

I know you were puzzled regarding me being your wife.

I knew that you too were happy to see me,

I want you to let your emotions be free.

Nupur further looked at him and saw that he had his cheeks red. She knew him. He was blushing like anything. And to see him like this, it was a pleasure. She was having her own sweet time in teasing him.

Only then, the announcement was made regarding the boarding and Mayank said, "Sorry Nupur, but I can't wait. I have to go. I would talk to you on phone." Although Mayank was hurt beyond words to even think that Nupur was trying to make fun of his love. How could she say that she was married to him? Her kiss was very sweet and he felt shy, but he knew that he has to go now. 

To say goodbye is most difficult,

And I was feeling just hysterical.

To go away from you is burning me like a fire,

To be with you is my only desire.

Nupur suddenly felt that Mayank was thinking it as a joke. She pulled his collar and asked him, "How can you even think to leave me behind? You can't just go away from my life. I can't let you go away. No way! I came here running and running, just to stop you, to stop my life from leaving me behind." She stopped and tears started dropping from her cheeks. Mayank was too puzzled to even react. He was happy that Nupur came for him. 

Nupur continued, "Mayank, I only love you and only you. How can you leave me behind? I know that I was engaged to Adhiraj and I wasn't supposed to love anyone, but I fell for you. I couldn't help it! And now I won't let you go from my life. I can't afford to do so. I know that I did give you pains, but if you still love me, then do stop for me. I can't live without you." Nupur cried and fell on the ground and Mayank picked her up by her shoulders and wiped off her tears.

I can't see even a single tear on your face,

Whenever you do so, my heart picks up the pace.

It burns my heart like a fire,

And do whatever my heart desire.

Mayank said, "Nupur do you think that I don't love you now? I do. It's impossible to forget a person whom you loved like anything. And I do love you a lot and I can't live without you too. I am not going anywhere, not if you tell me that how and when did we get married?" His tone changed into an affectionate one and he waited for her answer. Nupur was very happy that now Mayank wasn't going anywhere. 

Nupur continued, "Actually Mayank, marriage is a bond that binds two people together and love is a bond that binds two hearts together. Love is a greater bond than marriage. And we love each other, so we are bonded together....the marriage thing is done.....now only some man made customs are left. And I guess that too would be soon held." She smiled and Mayank enveloped her in his arms.

I know that we were not supposed to be together,

But our love bonded our heart forever.

We knew that we would be together till the end of our lives,

With you as my husband, and I be your wife.

And they lived happily ever after.....even if any problems came, they faced it together.

Hmm...That's the end to this one-shot. Well, i know this was the most filmy one-shot i have ever written! But you know that this was written long back!

And yeah, you must have noticed that all the three characters were positive. No negative shade in Adiraj was present. Adiraj could have easily married her, but he loved her. And love is selfless, so he set her free, knowing that she can never be his. And i felt that his love was greatest of all.
